Hope you'll find the opportunity for the Dempster. I can't provide a comparison but we found it to be absolutely incredible and especially wonderful to arrive at a native village on the Arctic shore where we camped the night.

We saw markers where individuals had passed away but no bodies. As grueling and dangerous as our trek was, the rainy sees the rivers raise even higher and that's when far more fatalities occur on the route.

I think what you share is true that the plight of the migrants in the Darien and beyond is an important perspective about a complex issue. Whatever the political opinion or economic facts might be, there's certainly room for a whole lot of compassion for those who are going through hell to seek a better future!

Agree completely. Migration is a complicated topic but these people were filled with hope and good intentions for a better life. So glad that came through and that you enjoyed part 4! We took mental notes during the journey of the various troopers' interests and gifted gear at the end (i.e. solar panels, batteries, biltong, a knife, etc.). Thanks again and hope you find part 5 continues and concludes the journey well.

That is very true. Whenever I’m riding without Greg, it’s always a juggling act of what to do with Whimsy. Bringing your dog definitely adds complexity but, as you know, a whole lot more joy too!

@GoRUFFLY yes definitely a whole lot more joy. I made an attempt to ride to Panama last year but had to turn around because it was just not ideal without a second rider. Trying to figure out a better approach so I can get going and make it to Panama and further. It's just difficult riding solo with a dog with those few things. Not just difficult but dangerous. I've gotten lucky leaving him outside stores in Mexico but have had small issues with a few of them. Being optimistic about it though. Just have to be realistic about what's best for the pup. It's tougher being solo without a support group but gonna keep working on a solution!

@devine_adventure probably enjoy talking to @tlc_travels on Instagram. She’s a Cockpit rider who’s been riding solo through South America for the last couple years. Might be a good swap of tips and experienced.
